reading from Luke 1.26-38
1 / Identify the titles given to Jesus in the words of the angel
This story reveals the personality and mission of Jesus. The titles given to him are those that give the Risen Christians in the light of Easter: "Son of the Most High," "Son of David", "Son of God." Quite the mystery of Christ and his divine nature is revealed by the angel, a spokesman of God. This child will come not just any child. The question posed by this text is addressed to all believers and to us today: Who is Jesus?
We believe that Jesus is not just a man. We believe in his divine nature as we profess in the Creed at mass. Jesus is "God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God."
With children, therefore present Jesus in his humanity at Christmas (born tiny, fragile, like all men) and also in his divinity (He is the Son of God).
2 / How is Mary?
Mary, "upset" by the appearance, full questions yet accepts the mission entrusted to him. "Behold the handmaid of the Lord Let everything be done to me according to thy word."
Children are pleased to be associated with the time of Advent which is a call to conversion: we turn his heart to turn to Jesus.
In awakening to faith and family , we can encourage children to accept Jesus as Mary. With her "yes," Mary guides us on the path of Christmas. Children can live Advent his example: yes, I agree to serve, store my room, to obey, to prepare to share my heart to receive Jesus coming at Christmas. With our children, say "YES" to the love of one who comes.
can end this meeting with the parents read the "Prayer to Our Lady of YES" (see the message "Annunciation Prayer".
